Several new albums have been released so far in 2022, which has set off a great start. It seems like we’re getting more audio dope every week, and today is no different. With their rowdy-but-skillful brand of rap, Atlanta’s EarthGang has made a name for themselves over the past eight years. Having been around for quite some time, they are only going to rise in the ranks as time goes by. It is the perfect moment to release some new tracks of this caliber and set the mood for the remainder of the year. Since 2019’s EarthGang’s Olu, WowGr8 and Mirrorland have not released a full-length project together. It was officially released today (Feb. 25) and it is called Ghetto Gods.

Ghetto Gods, which Olu and WowGr8 first announced last February, is based on the idea of overcoming hardships by working with the community and respecting those who have already achieved success. There is no unattainable godliness, it can be found in each of us if we choose to use it for good. The group has preceded the release of the album with a couple of freestyle tributes to Beyonce and Erykah Badu, who not only inspired them creatively, but also served as examples of godliness and leadership in their communities.

As part of the rap collective Spillage Village, the duo have stayed busy while working on Ghetto Gods, their second full-length album. Featuring of J.I.D., 6lack, EarthGang, Benji, Mereba, and other Atlanta artists, Spillage Village released the highly anticipated Spilligion last year. Known for their successful Southern hip-hop music, Spillage Village is already being compared to Outkast. Ghetto Gods, on the other hand, should bring them into the spotlight. Use this opportunity to add their new album to your rotation if your music playlist could use some new music!
