Yesterday (March 23), multi-faceted artist Omar Apollo released his latest track, “Tamagotchi.” It is named after a keepsake toy from the early 2000s and it features legendary producer Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo. The release of Tamagotchi follows the announcement of his highly anticipated debut album IVORY, scheduled for April 8 via Warner Records. Using the latin-influenced beat to good effect, Apollo delivers:
The upcoming project will be supported by Omar’s “Desvelado Tour,” which will include a number of newly announced and rescheduled concerts, including performances at Coachella and in Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Eugene, New Orleans and Orlando. Deb Never will provide support on the “Desvelado Tour,” which begins on April 5 in Portland and ends on June 16 in London.
The song follows up”Invincible,” “Killing Me,” with Daniel Caesar as the album’s fourth single. As of November of last year, Omar Apollo’s last music release was his single “Bad Life” featuring Kali Uchis. Following his recent Spotify Singles cover of “California Dreamin'” and a remix of last summer’s “Go Away,” Omar’s new track is his first release since the summer.
