In honour of the new year, Gucci Mane released a track yesterday called “Fake Friends.” The track samples Whodini’s classic “Friends” and sees the Atlanta legend offering advice to his son, Ice, about those within his circle of influence that are not who they claim to be:

The matching visual for “Fake Friends” has arrived courtesy of Omar The Director, which shows Guwop, decked in heavily jeweled clothing, delivering bars to Ice in different locations within a dark room, riding in the back of a Rolls-Royce with Ice’s name emblazoned on the window, and while flicking through a personalized children’s book for his one-year-old daughter.

Following “Fake Friends,” Gucci released a heartfelt tribute to Young Dolph entitled “Long Live Dolph”, a highlight of the 1017 head honcho’s recent Holiday release So Icy Christmas. 17 tracks were featured on the project, including contributions from Enchanting, Big Scarr, BigWalkDog, Hotboy Wes, BiC Fizzle, and DJ Chose. Additionally, he released two 1017 compilations this year (Ice Daddy and So Icy Boyz), the latter of which had 17 tracks presumably intentional and featuring collaborations with Peewee Longway, Dolph, Project Pat, Pooh Shiesty, 2 Chainz, Lil Uzi Vert, E-40, Lil Baby, and more.
