Towards the end of 2012, Covaboy blessed his masses with the EP Thanks For Coming, a compilation of five dope tracks produced by Storm, DXOR, Ill Wonka, and Skeyez. The rapper “Covaboy” has released a new visual for his upcoming album, “Been Platinum.” The bass-heavy record sees the MC speak on his life and stomping grounds while delivering some of his sharpest bars to date:

According to a press release from Covaboy, the creation of “Been Platinum” was as follows:

As a result, I felt it was necessary to perform this song since people are not used to hearing me on these types of beats, so I wanted to establish a point. Because where I’m from (‘Jesse’s World’), it’s not uncommon for people to give me flowers, tell me I’m a legend, and tell me I’m two steps ahead of them.”

With the release of the EP Silver Sity last year, Covaboy made huge waves. The EP featured notable features from King Quell, Garren, Tracie Josephine, Abdou, and Curren$y, who contributed to the runaway hit “Soundtrack For the Hustlers.” As the title suggests, the project revolved around Covaboy’s upbringing in Silver Spring, a suburb of Washington, D.C. A few months later, DMV talent upgraded Silver Sity into a deluxe version, adding two additional tracks to the mix.
