It will be next month when Lucky Daye unleashes his new album Candydrip, which will include the song “Over”, which he released in the fall, and the song he dropped in December. In addition to that, he releases “NWA,” another D’Mile production that sounds as though it was sampled from Timmy Thomas 70 classic “Why Can’t We Live Together” used by Drake for the smash hit “Hotline Bling.” In addition, “NWA” also features an assist from Chicago crooner Lil Durk, who is looking forward to taking over the weekend with his latest single:

As recently as last month, Lucky Daye spoke about collaborating with Lil Durk, among other talents from St. Louis:

You’ll never guess which one I’ll give you, but it’ll be a fire. The first song on the album is one of my favorites, me and Smino. I remember we were crazy while recording it. There are also some others on there. “NWA” with Durk, for example, is difficult to describe since you’ve never had a taste of it. When you listen to it, you’re like, “Oh yeah, that makes complete sense.”

Candydrip, which is expected to arrive some time in the future, follows Lucky Daye’s 2019 debut LP Painted, which offered 13 tracks and, as it seems to be on Candydrip, was primarily produced by D’Mile. Moreover, a deluxe edition of Painted was released that year that included six songs and extra features from Victoria Monét, MediSun, Chronixx, and Babyface. In February, Daye did keep up the momentum with Table For Two, an EP that capitalizes on the Valentine’s Day holiday with collaborations with Tiana Major9, YEBBA, Mahalia, Queen Naija, Ari Lennox, and Joyce Wrice.
