Rah Swish’s Mayor of the Streets project has officially been launched in Brooklyn. 10 tracks are included in the project, featuring artists such as Smokepurpp and a handful of fellow New Yorkers Ron Suno, Fetty Luciano, Leeky G Bando, and Young Costomado. A number of local artists, including Jbanga, Jetz, and more, contribute to the production. “Trending Topic” sets the tone for the entire album with its opening bars:

I’m the trending topic (I’m the trending topic)/ My n****s know I got em (Know I got em)/ Turn that boy into exotics (Turn that boy into exotics)/ Look, young n***a built like Larry Stackhouse brush em (Brush em)/

Rah Swish, a Canarsie staple, dropped off his drill-fueled short film BK Belly last year. The short film was named after Hype Williams’ classic 1998 flick which brought DMX and Nas to the big screen. The new BK Juice is his latest installment in the series. On Rah Swish’s follow up album, Ron Suno and Rah Swish pay tribute to a 1992 2Pac classic. With a Brooklyn twist, Rah portrays the cult classic as a story of greed, ego, and ultimate betrayal as directed and produced by the legendary Trackmasters duo, Poke and Tone.

Earlier this year, Rah Swish pulled the plug on his WOO Forever project. This album was a major step for Rah Swish, showing the direction he will take from now on. Featuring 11 songs by Curly Savv and Jay Gwuapo, the work set the standard for future Rah Swish releases. Rah has released several recent singles including “D&G” featuring Zay G,  “A Year Ago,” “Mop” with DJ Drewski and Ron Suno and “Whatchu Like” featuring DreamDoll.
