As one of hip hop’s hidden gems, Mozzy has been dropping steady heat for years. However, it wasn’t until his Mandatory Check project in 2016 that people really began to notice him. While he is one of the best west coast talents out there today, he is clearly not going to let that stop him from dropping fire projects no matter how many people are sleeping – those that do will just have to catch up once they get a chance.  He is actively establishing himself within the rap community on the west coast, and it is truly a joy to witness his accomplishments. Currently riding high on projects including Gangland Landlord, Beyond Bulletproof, 1 Up Top Ahk and more, Mozzy is on a run that will only stand the test of time once all is said and done.

The last few months have seen fans make some interesting comparisons with Mozzy. In addition to Lonnie Johnson Jr. saying that he was the closest to Nipsey Hussle, another one that “shook the room” was the late Houston Texan safety. However, YG stated that Mozzy was closest to Tupac Shakur in terms of style and substance. The subjective nature of music means that there is bound to be a wide range of opinions expressed. It is inevitable that some will agree and others will disagree, but that is all part of the process.

Mozzy’s Untreated Trauma follows the release of his solo album Occupational Hazard as well as his joint project with Compton resident YG, Kommunity Service, that was released in May. Mozzy is fully aware that there is no ceiling for his work ethic and knows there is no limit to what he can achieve.
