In addition to just releasing the latest single, “So Into You,” Jhonni Blaze also secured an assist from none other than the one and only Trina. Since her return to music, she has dropped several notable collabs and tracks including “Backend Remix,” “Where You From,” Popp Hunna, “Back End,” the Elephant Man, and last but not least, “Toxic” NLE Choppa. Blaze opens the track with the following hook:
Jhonni also spent some time explaining the song’s evolution, presenting flowers to Trina for her well-deserved celebration, and sharing some advice she’d received. Trina has always been kind to me. During our phone call, she told me, “The fast music is cool, but this R&B record is the best one,'” she says. The people telling me I should quit the business don’t want me would have prevented me from sharing this story.”
It has been about two years since Trina released her sixth studio album, The One, a 15-track collection featuring the likes of Sevyn Streeter, DJ Khaled, 2 Chainz, Plies, Boosie Badazz, Lil Wayne, Dave East, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Price, and more. In the years since then, she has occasionally appeared on hits from her successors, such as Latto’s “Bitch From Da Souf (Remix),” and Kamaiyah’s “Set It Up” on which Saweetie also contributed.
