On March 30, Alicia Keys celebrated the anniversary of the release of her seventh studio LP Alicia, which included 15 tracks and collaborations with Sampha, Diamond Platnumz, Snoh Aalegra, Tierra Whack, Khalid, Miguel, and Jill Scott. In addition to the critical success, the pandemic that spread due to COVID-19 almost delayed its release indefinitely until Keys offered a shocking surprise months after its release date in March. The composer and musician has largely remained off the radar since then, though he appeared on DMX’s Exodus and remixed Nicky Jam’s “Underdog” with Rauw Alejandro. She has also released a deluxe upgrade for her legendary debut Songs In A Minor, celebrating its 20th anniversary.

In addition to musical endeavors, Keys has also announced that he is once again dipping his toes into the literary pool. The HarperCollins Publishers subsidiary announced that the chart-topping song by Keys, “Girl On Fire,” would be made into a novel. The story will be centred around 14-year-old Lolo Wright, who has telekinetic powers. Brittney Williams will illustrate the graphic novel, which Andrew Weiner will co-write. It is expected to hit the shelves on March 1 of next year.
