A notable exception was Kodak Black, who was about to be sent to prison after last year’s legal issues before being pardoned by the former president. Kodak released a track shortly after his release called “Last Day In,” produced by LenoxBeatmaker, Luca Vialli, and Dyryk, in which he spoke about his time behind bars, and his possible additional time behind bars, at the time:

In the new video, Kodak is seen reflecting on the song’s subject matter in a variety of locations – the hotel room where the song is set, the private jet and other markers of his hard-earned financial status.

Kodak Black has been feeding his fans with plenty of new music since “Last Day In” landed, among them other loose cuts like Every Balmain,” “Easter in Miami,” the XXXTentacion tribute  “Rip Stick” and “Falling Over”  alongside Syko Bob and Pooh Shiesty. On May 19, he released the EP Haitian Boy Kodak – a few weeks later, he released the Happy Birthday Kodak EP, featuring four tracks and contributions from Jacquees, Lil Keed, Yo Gotti and Rylo Rodriguez.
