The last few days have seen Dave East release a new EP titled HDIGH, a nine-track body of work that features production from Mike & Keys and contributions from Musiq Soulchild, Method Man, Benny The Butcher, Anthony Hamilton, and more. Featuring Trae The Truth, the project is accompanied by a music video for “Crash Out,” in which the two rappers keep it real about their respective lives and challenges:
Watch the accompanying clip for “Crash Out” from East’s NYC base in the accompanying clip directed by Fred Focus. His bars are delivered in a courtyard surrounded by what appears to be project housing when he is filmed. Eventually, he meets Trae Tha Truth, who takes him on a ride out through the city streets after a chance encounter on a stairwell.
HDIGH follows East’s previous HOFFA release, Harry Fraud’s joint project with East, which featured 14 cuts and collaborations with artists including G Herbo, Jim Jones, French Montana, Curren$y, and Steven Young. As well as recording his own music, he also contributed to songs by his peers, such as Snoop Dogg “Make Some Money,” Joey Fatts “Dead & Gone,” AZ “Blow That Shit,” Mary J. Blige “Rent Money” AND Jim Jones “Fit Bit (Betty White),” and In addition, Trae Tha Truth released his newest album last month, which featured Icewear Payroll Giovanni, Vezzo, Louie Ray, Babyface Ray, and more across 17 tracks.
