The legendary Sorry 4 the Wait project from Lil Wayne was finally released on streaming services earlier this year, a fan-favorite that was originally released over a decade ago, long before streaming services were big business. The rap legend has been in a nostalgic mood as he shared a visual accompaniment to his hit single “Mona Lisa” over the weekend.

In 2018, he released the album Tha Carter V, which included the song “Tha Carter V” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Tim Fox led the animation team responsible for Wayne’s new video, “Mona Lisa”, which features some production by ONHEL and Infamous along with some lyrics inspired by a fictional woman:

Earlier this year, Lil Wayne teamed up with Rich The Kid for the album Trust Fund Babies, which featured a solo track from YG. Lil Wayne hasn’t been active as much the last two years, particularly on the collaboration front. Dababy collaborated with him on “Lonely,” collaborating with Dame D.O.L.L.A alongside Mozzy for the “Right One” visual, as well as providing vocals to the song “Lose” on KSI’s All Over The Place album.

In addition to his other work Weezy has made appearances on a variety of tracks including “GANG GANG” by Polo G, LPB Poody viral “Batman” track, “Wokesha” by Ashanti and Moneybagg Yo, and most importantly, he reunited with Drake, Young Money and Nicki Minaj for “Seeing Green.”
