According to John Huber and Karen Bloom in a statement issued on Friday (Nov. 19), “Today’s verdict means that the person who murdered our son is not accountable.” “It is unacceptable for innocent citizens of any town to carry guns, incite violence, and then justify shooting in the street because they created a dangerous situation for others.” I hope that all decent citizens will join us in insisting on our laws, officials and justice system working together.”

Now, Huber’s parents have decided to hold Rittenhouse responsible for their son’s death, along with the Kenosha police officers who authorized the shooting spree.

Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all counts, including first-degree deliberate homicide, attempted first-degree attempted homicide, first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree reckless endangerment on Friday (Nov. 19). While protests erupted following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum were fatally shot and Gaige Grosskreutz was injured.

Rittenhouse claimed in his testimony that she was acting in self-defense when she shot the three men. She claimed, “I did not intend to kill them.”. He previously stated that his goal was to stop the attackers.

A statement by Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers addressing the injuries and deaths caused by Rittenhouse was released after the verdict was announced. “No ruling today changes or eliminates the fact that we have work to do in Wisconsin to achieve the equity, accountability, and justice communities in all corners of the state demand and deserve,” said Gov. Walker.

After the verdict, Ever also addressed the possibility of protests taking place in the area. Those planning to assemble are asked to do so only in a safe and peaceful manner.
