Apparently her neighbor was accidentally shooting his gun when it accidentally went off while he was cleaning it, killing an Atlanta actress and mother. A bullet sent through her Duluth apartment building, striking Carlether Foley in the head, was reported to have been fired on Sept. 26 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which broke the story this weekend.

Foley was the mother of a 17-year-old, Keyandre, who found his mother unresponsive and dialed 911.

Foley’s neighbor, 22-year-old Maxwell Williamson, is believed to have fired the bullet from within the house, according to Gwinnett County police. According to the man, he accidentally discharged his gun while cleaning it and told officials he had forgotten it was loaded.

Police report indicates that Williamson left a note on Foley’s door declaring his apologies for the damage to her that the bullet may have caused, unaware that he had killed her. Involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct are among the charges against Williamson, who was arrested later that day.

The feeling isn’t real. Keyandre found his mother by himself, telling ABC 13. “I just don’t understand,” he said. “I don’t know what to do.” She doesn’t bother anyone. I don’t remember my mom doing anything.”

My pain is unlike anything I’ve ever felt. Jacqueline Foley, the teen’s mother, said, “I can’t figure it out.” The teen’s grandmother was also by her side.

Adding, “You did not have the right to take my child,” she addressed Williamson. “Taking her life away from her child was not your business,” she added. Her child is 17 years old. He is in his final year of high school. Your actions have hurt my family. You have taken away my child.”

Williamson remains incarcerated with no possibility of parole as of Friday (Oct. 1), according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

As an actress, Foley has appeared in a number of films and television series, including unaired independent films The Slice O’ Cake and Friend Zone. GoFundMe has been set up by the family to help cover funeral costs.
